I am the Fellow by Examination in Philosophy at Magdalen College, Oxford. I am also a Visiting Scholar in the Sage School of Philosophy at Cornell University.
I work on the history of Sanskrit philosophy, including both Brahmanical and Buddhist traditions. My philosophical interests are broad; my research primarily focuses on second-millennium Nyāya, especially its immensely influential central figure, Gaṅgeśa, and his engagement with earlier Prābhākara authors.
In service of better understanding Prābhākara source material, I also maintain strong interests in the Buddhist philosopher Dharmakīrti and his tradition. These interests have led me to begin developing a parallel research project on the second-millennium author Ratnakīrti, the last great Buddhist philosopher to write in Sanskrit.
I maintain side interests in philosophy of disability and social metaphysics.
My paper "Raghunātha on Seeing Absence" was awarded the 2023 Rogers Prize by the British Journal for the History of Philosophy, its annual prize for best article.
